WELCOME!!

Thank you for joining my digital paradise…I am Ali Anderson,a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, a busy mom to two wonderful children, an extremely blessed wife, a lover of yoga, and a dog momma.

I am blessed to have a husband and two children that supported me so I could become a Nutritional Therapist Practitioner after working as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for 10 years and who joined me in 2015 on a major move from Eugene, OR to Charleston, SC.

I welcome you to my digital paradise, I will share my soul, some of my tribulations, and most likely some bathroom humor so that I can inspire you to love yourself and put you as a priority.

Some challenges that I have overcome…

I get it, life is challenging.  Sometimes we have physical challenges and sometimes they are emotional.  As your nutritional therapy practitioner I can understand what you have been through or are going through.  My style is kind, patient, filled with some humor….

Let me share some of the challenges I have been through in my adult years – a full spinal fusion (T4-L4), then 15 years later learn that an infection grew into the rods in my back so I had been straining my immune system for years with fighting a constant infection so then came spinal surgery #2 and 6 months of antibiotics.  I have also had severe endometriosis and chronic ovarian cysts which led to a full hysterectomy at age 30.  I have chronic sciatica which I have been fighting for over 3 years and nerve damage in my foot/leg/hip, I have been able to manage my pain through diet and lifestyle changes.  I am also working on conquering some pretty severe PTSD from years as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, extreme adrenal fatigue, depression, and anxiety which led into being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease.  By working with my own individuality I have been able to heal and reduce so many of my symptoms. Eating for my own bio-individuality has helped me no longer be in chronic pain, reduced the nerve pain, and has given me energy that I never thought I would get back.

What diet do I do??

I do not diet!!  I live a healthy lifestyle….

I cannot say I am 100% paleo, keto, vegan, or any other diet that sometimes feels like a “one size fits all” plan. Instead I am a little combination of everything and I work with my needs at that time.  I work on balancing my hormones and eating accordingly, work with whatever my athletic (or lack of) training schedule is, work with whatever my travel schedule is and I adjust my eating and lifestyle accordingly.  We are all ever evolving individuals and it is important to remember that when deciding what food or drinks to nourish your body with.

I have learned that accepting how I feel is far better than beating yourself up for feeling a certain way.

If I feel like crap one day then I lovingly embrace it instead of beating myself up and apologizing for feeling like crap. Loving and taking care of yourself is so much greater than expecting more and more of yourself.

I lay my soul out for the public to read to let you know I am human, just a typical gal finding her way in this world and learning each step of the way.  I hope to help you in your struggles, be here for questions, and inspire you to get out of your comfort zone.  And in return I know that you will inspire me with your comments, shared stories, and positive juju that you send to my virtual paradise 🙂

I am grateful that you are here, and humbled you would take the time to read my blog. It is amazing the things that can be accomplished when we act as a tribe.

I would love to work with you or someone you care about so that you can have the same success that I have been able to have!

I care about each of you and your health and love love hearing from y’all! Follow me on facebook, instagram, twitter, periscope, and pinterest. I promise to only mildly stalk you back…

In good health,

Ali Anderson, NTP

P.S. I am currently accepting distance clients and local clients in the Charleston, SC area.  I also provide corporate wellness counseling packages and athletic nutrition packages. If you have any questions please email me at islandhealthsc@gmail.com to book an appointment!
